Bush and the voices in his head

From BBC : (via WTF)

Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.

Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

It's difficult to know whether the Palestinian Foreign Minister is telling the truth or not, but it doesn't seem at all implausible. In which case, it's probably time to curl up in a ball and lie in a corner shitting our pants.

You know, when he says "And now again I feel God's words coming to me", it sounds incredibly like the voice of God might be nothing other than an attack of diarrhea and the gastric rumblings that precede it. Just a theory. Although it would be kind of sad if all this death and destruction could have been avoided if only he hadn't over-indulged in the potato salad.
